The homeowner had a frustrating problem. Water was spilling over the gutter right in the middle of a long run - not at the end, not at a corner, but dead center. That's a sign the system wasn't draining fast enough to handle the volume coming off the roof.

A lot of people assume overflow means the gutter is clogged. Sometimes that's true. But in this case, the gutter was clean. The real issue was that the water had too far to travel with nowhere to go. When you've got a long gutter run with only one exit point, heavy rain can overwhelm it quickly.

The fix was straightforward once we diagnosed it correctly - add a new downspout right where the overflow was happening. We cut in the outlet at the mid-point of the run, installed a properly sized downspout, and now the water has a second path off the roof. No more pooling, no more overflow spilling down the brick.

That's the thing about gutter work. It's not always about replacing everything. Sometimes it's about reading the system and finding the right solution for what's actually going on. A single added downspout solved what could have eventually led to water damage along the foundation or fascia board.

We do a lot of gutter work across Burleson and the surrounding areas, and situations like this come up more than people expect. Every home is a little different, and the fix has to match the problem - not just the most common answer.
