Water management is one of those things that flies under the radar - until it becomes a problem. Gutters that are undersized, old, or just not doing their job can quietly cause serious damage to fascia boards, foundations, and landscaping. That's exactly what we set out to fix here.
We put in a fresh 5-inch wicker gutter system on this brick home, covering both the front and the back of the house - including the covered patio area along the pool side. That patio sees a lot of roof runoff, so getting proper drainage dialed in back there was just as important as the front. No gaps in coverage means no weak spots when a heavy rain rolls through.
The wicker finish works naturally with the home's exterior - tan brick, neutral trim, the whole palette. It doesn't stand out in a bad way. It just looks like it belongs. That's the goal with any exterior upgrade: function first, but it should look intentional too.
5-inch gutters are the standard for most residential homes, and they handle a solid volume of water without overwhelming the look of the roofline. Pair that with proper pitch and secure hangers, and you've got a system built to move water away from the structure the way it's supposed to - every time it rains.
Good gutters protect the investment you've already made in your home. It's not glamorous work, but it matters a lot more than most homeowners realize until something goes wrong.
